Mobile phones will never replace VHF and in our view everyone who goes to sea should be capable of operating VHF radios effectively. This intensive one-day course covers all aspects of using VHF radio including the most up-to-date changes of the Global Maritime Distress Safety System and Digital Selective Calling. An RYA administration fee of £30 is payable at the end of the course for the issue of your radio licence. (Please check www.rya.org.uk for uptodate prices)
Pre-course experience: Participants must know the phonetic alphabet, bring one passport photograph and a cheque for the RYA fee.
