The RYA CRO+ course is organised by the Regional Race Management Coordinators and delivered by RYA Race Management Committee approved Instructors.
The Seminars are held around the country. Preparation for the seminar includes being familiar with the RYA Race Management Guide (click on the download button on the right side of this page). At the end of the Seminar, a 50 question multi-choice exam is set with a 70% pass mark. A pass in this exam gives the candidate, as long as they are an RYA member, an automatic Club Race Officer Plus (CRO+) qualification and certificate. This exam pass is one of the requirements for the RRO qualification.
Once the CRO+ course has been completed and passed, then the candidate is expected to submit a cv of events (approximately 4 events) where he/she has been a race officer. On successful submission of the cv, then the RRO qualification is issued.
